New Beginnings at Fairfield: Our Home & Business Transformation Begins
Scaffolding, getting ready for the new roof.
Welcome to our first blog post — the beginning of what promises to be an exciting (and no doubt, chaotic) journey as we breathe new life into Fairfield, our property at 2 Station Road, Mundesley.
The Official Start
After months of dreaming, sketching ideas on napkins, and many cups of tea, we’re excited to share that our planning application (PF/24/1894) has been approved! North Norfolk District Council gave us the green light on 12th November 2024, and now things are officially in motion.
The project involves:
Replacing the shop fronts – modernising the street-facing façade to be more inviting, energy-efficient, and aligned with the character of the area.
Changing the use of Unit C – the side unit of the main building will be transformed into an annexe with thoughtful, functional external alterations. This space is key to making our property work for both home and business life.
Why This Matters
Our building isn’t just bricks and mortar — it’s the base for our family life and our business. Mundesley is now our home, and this project is about investing back into the community we love. We want this space to reflect who we are and what we do — practical, creative, and rooted in Norfolk charm.
Today the scaffolding has started to go up in preparation for the new roof.
What Comes Next?
We’ll be diving into:
Design updates – think layout inspiration, mood boards, and fittings that make life easier.
Construction updates – progress pics, decisions we’re making on the fly, and maybe a few surprises along the way.
Behind-the-scenes – the ups, the downs, the muddy boots, and the project meetings over pastries.
We can’t wait to take you along with us. Whether you’re into design, DIY, or just love a good before-and-after story, we hope you’ll stick around.
Coming next: We’ll share some of the inspiration behind our new shop front and how we're making sure it complements both our brand and the heritage of the village.
Let us know what you'd love to see or ask about our space.
